Scottish Festive Film heading for Christmas Day on the BBC

 

  

Festive Scottish rom com Lost At Christmas is to receive its UK television premiere this Christmas. The indie romance, filmed in Glencoe and Fort William last year, has been picked up by the BBC as part of their nationwide festive line-up.

The film tells the story of two strangers who find themselves heartbroken and stranded in the Scottish Highlands on Christmas Eve. Putting aside their differences they team up to try and get home for Christmas. The film boasts a plethora of well known Scottish stars such as Sylvester McCoy (Doctor Who / The Hobbit), Sanjeev Kohli (Still Game), Frazer Hines (Emmerdale) and Clare Grogan (Gregory’s Girl), alongside rising stars Natalie Clark and Kenny Boyle.

The heartwarming stocking filler is set for three airings across both BBC One and the BBC Scotland Channel, as well as providing on demand festive cheer on the BBC iPlayer. Still Game’s Sanjeev Kohli who plays the grouchy landlord of Glencoe’s famous Clachaig Inn said, “What a privilege to be on the telly in a Xmas movie on Xmas day. That Snowman is going DOWN.”

The indie romance, directed by BAFTA nominee Ryan Hendrick, was shot weeks before lockdown took the country by surprise was completed and released on streaming services and some cinemas last Christmas. “With the few cinemas that were open last Christmas, we managed to get into ten cinemas across the UK, and to our amazement those cinemas were reporting record turnout for our wee movie, many of them having to book additional showings. It was evident Lost At Christmas resonated with audiences and I am beyond ecstatic that our film is being shown on the BBC. It’s a real milestone for us.”

Lost At Christmas will air three times, beginning with BBC Scotland on Monday 20th, then on BBC One on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day on BBC Scotland.
